High-Level Roundtable: Towards Industry 4.0 and a Digital Single Market
|Date:||16 October 2014|
|Location:||Brussels, Belgium, 14:00 - 18:00|
16 October, 2014 - Résidence Palace, 155 rue de la Loi, 1040 Brussels, BELGIUM
There is an urgent need to revive flagging European growth and counter the widening productivity gap with other advanced economies. Digital technologies are widely recognised as being key in driving innovation and helping companies move up the global value chain. Two particularly promising prospects are the digitalisation of industry – an area where Europe has significant strengths – as well as the completion of the digital single market – a long-overdue effort to overcome the fragmentation in what is the fastest growing segment of the economy.
Two of the worldʼs foremost experts on information technology and productivity will present their latest research at this High-Level Roundtable on Digitalisation and Productivity, honing in on Europeʼs opportunity to use Industry 4.0 and completion of the single market to kick-start innovation and growth. This High-Level Roundtable is hosted by the European Digital Forum, a think tank led by the Lisbon Council and Nesta. Its website is www.europeandigitalforum.eu
