Beyond the new EU food labelling requirements, which came into force on 13 December 2014, the challenge for the European food industry is to comply with the diverse food safety policies across the 28 member states while remaining competitive and innovative.

Collaboration is needed across the industry to face the risks of contamination and adulteration across the food supply chain that has become global and more complex.
