Objectives

This course

  • Familiarises the participants with good e-learning practices applicable to both school education and adult education

  • Trains participants on how to make e-Learning courses fully based on pedagogical elements and didactic tips

  • Familiarises on specific free web based and multimedia applications for developing superb e-Learning courses

  • Teaches how to go from face-to-face training to e-Learning training and increase the efficiency, impact and reach compared to traditional teaching practices

  • Familiarises with functional e-Learning practices for all, including people with disabilities

  • Assesses, evaluates and provides suggestions of improvement on current e-Learning courses for adult and school education

  • Establishes a network of potential partners or clients from all over Europe and consider other educational and cultural differences 

DAY 1: Essentials for Fruitful E-Learning Practices 

  • Welcome, ice breaking, outline of the course and the tools to be used, expectations and experience of the participants

  • Presentation of the training needs by the participants

  • Discussion on what is e-Learning, the myths of e-Learning, and the 7 (e-)s

  • Clarifying various e-Learning terms,

  • Outlook of different e-Learning forms

  • Discussion on how to achieve effective e-Learning activities

  • Discussion on how e-Learning can suit the needs of each participant individually

Expected Learning Outcomes of training day 1: After participating in this training day, the trainee will be able to

  • Understand the essentials for effective e-Learning practices

  • Familiarise with various (e-)Learning forms

  • Decide on what are the most effective (e-) Learning forms for your activities

DAY 2 Overlook And Practice On Various E-Learning Environments 

  • Re-capitulation

  • Outlook on features available in e-Learning environments

  • Outlook and comparison between various commercial and free/open source e-Learning products

  • Outlook on existing courses/demos for various e-Learning environments and hands on experience and practice (indicative suggestions Blackboard, Moodle, ATutor,  Dokeos, Schoology, Edmodo, etc)

  • Discussion on pros and cons of each selected e-Learning platform

Expected Learning Outcomes of training day 2: After participating in this training day, the trainee will be able to

  • Understand the main features available in e-Learning environments

  • Compare different e-Learning environments

  • Select the e-Learning enviroment for their own needs

  • Familiarise with popular e-Learning environments

DAY 3  Moodle Workshop: The Most Popular Free E-Learning Environment

  • Demonstration of main Moodle Features

  • Hands on practice with the Moodle. Work in groups based on specific tasks for creating a course and with the support of the tutor in a Moodle environment

Expected Learning Outcomes of training day 3: After participating in this training day, the trainee will be able to

  • Manage Moodle and Create Content as a teacher

  • Upload courses on Moodle servers in the Internet

  • Deliver courses online through Moodle

DAY 4 Develop an Attractive E-Course with Multimedia/Social Media in Half The Time 

  • Recapitulation

  • Familiarise with free educational content resources for your training services

  • Familiarise with free innovative multimedia tools for making your eCourse more attractive

  • Familiarise with free innovative web tools for transcending your eCourse

  • How to make engage your students

  • Hands on practice. Practice what you learnt!

Expected Learning Outcomes of training day 4: After participating in this training day, the trainee will be able to

  • Use free educational content resources for your training services

  • Apply free innovative multimedia and social tools for making your eCourse more attractive and engaging

DAY 5 Extend Your Current Class and Complete Engaging E-Courses

  • Re-capitulation

  • Extend your current class! How to deliver live a course to a wide audience of people that currently are not located in the classroom for free

  • Address any missing gaps and explain further any points from any days training.

  • Evaluation

Expected Learning Outcomes of training day 5: After participating in this training day, the trainee will be able to

  • Deliver a live course at the same moment to people that currently are not located in the classrom

  • Make professional and distinguished e-courses that really make the difference and engage your students

Important Note

Face-to-face training takes place every day till around 14:00. However, after lunch learning and familiarisation continues as self-learning by the participants with the follow up activities and participating in the e-forum discussion in our e-learning platform. This interactive way of sharing views and knowledge between participants with different experiences is very popular and an essential way of learning. The e-learning platform contains all the training material for the whole week
