11 February, 2014 - DIPOLI Congress CentreOtakaari 24, Otaniemi, Espoo, FINLAND

In 2014 the Central Baltic INTERREG IVA Programme 2007-2013 is arranging a series of Networking Forums. The forums provide an excellent opportunity to elaborate on future project ideas having the achievements of the current programme as a starting point.

Project partners of the current programme are invited to the events (see below). In addition, potential co-operation organizations are important target groups. The Central Baltic programme provides the venue and facilitation of the events, but the success will depend on an active interaction between all participants.

The events will be arranged with a thematic approach. The two first events will be arranged in the spring, and the third one in the autumn. Themes to be covered are:

  • A sustainable and well-connected region – environment and transport (Espoo, 11 February 2014)

  • A competitive and innovative region - SME:s and innovation (Riga, 18 March 2014)

  • A skilled and socially inclusive region – social inclusion and education (Tallinn, autumn 2014)

Who should attend the first event in Espoo?

If you have been running or participated in an environmental project funded by the Programme (Priority 1) or aproject related to transport (Priority 2) you are likely to benefit from the information and networking opportunities provided at the first event. Furthermore, if your organization is especially interested in the future of the Baltic Sea and the challenges caused by eutrophication or the accumulation of hazardous substances you are likely to gain even more of attending the networking forum. Moreover, organizations that are working with planning of coastal areas and promoting the natural and cultural heritage, including tourism, could have an interest to participate. Transport questions, and especially related to the development of more efficient and integrated transport solutions, are often linked to the environmental challenges, and will be one theme highlighted by the new Central Baltic programme 2014-2020.

The last day for registrations for the Forum in Espoo is on 31 January.
