Summary of Position

International Organisation seeks a Finance Director to work on an anticipated USAID-funded Indonesia Sustainable Higher Education Research Alliances (SHERA) programme. The primary objective of SHERA is to increase the capacity of university faculty, staff, Ph.D. students, and post-docs at targeted Higher Education Institutions to develop world class research skills. A related objective is to strengthen the institutional environment that enables and encourages research. An expected outcome of this initiative is that an increased number of Indonesian HEIs will take part in joint research collaborations with U.S. entities in science and technology. The Finance Director will support the Chief of Party in meeting programme objectives and will be responsible for oversight of project finances and grant-making activities.

The position is contingent on funding.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assure that the programme meets all International Organisation, USAID and host country requirements relative to USAID funds accountability and operations within the region

  • Track and analyze all costs incurred under the grant

  • Maintain financial records for all programme activities

  • Ensure that appropriate financial record-keeping policies and practices are established and maintained

  • Ensure that all procurement is in compliance with International Organisation policy and U.S. government regulations

  • Monitor project budgets and provide required reporting

  • Coordinate with International Organisation Finance team in Indonesia and at the home office
