EIB recruiting Sector Specialist for Territorial Development

Contract duration: fixed term position for 1 year.

The EIB, the European Union's bank is seeking to recruit for the Projects Directorate (PJ),Environment and Regional Development (ERD)  Department, Regional & Urban Development(REGU) Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg a Sector Specialist (Territorial Development).

Purpose

The Sector (Territorial Development) Specialist will assess and follow-up, within multi-disciplinary teams, investment programmes in the public and private sectors, in accordance with EIB procedures, notably, but not exclusively, in countries where the EIB operates.

Accountabilities

  • Provide an independent economic and financial appraisal of projects and programmes

  • Provide assistance in the early screening of  investments

  • Track the evolution of the sector, including active representation at selected sector events

  • Liaise with EU institutions, international organisations and other relevant stakeholders on policy and sector issues

  • Advise promoters on the preparation and implementation of projects (often involving the management of consultants)                                

  • Draft sector studies and policy papers, as required, and take over other horizontal responsibilities related to the sector pipeline.
