International Organisation hiring Head of Studies and Support Unit

The International Service for Remunerations and Pensions (ISRP) is a Service that produces studies on remuneration and pension policies of International Civil Servants and administers the pensions of the Co‑ordinated Organisations and other international organisations. In parallel, the ISRP administers pension reserve funds for several international organisations.

The ISRP is administratively attached to the Organisation.

The ISRP is looking for an experienced professional to lead the work of  its Studies and Support Unit.  S/He will help the Head of the ISRP in conceptualising and implementing the technical capabilities of the Service in order to design and implement in the most effective manner the methodologies in remuneration and pensions, as recommended by the Co‑ordinating Committee on Remuneration (CCR) and approved by Councils of the Co‑ordinated Organisations (CO), and to deliver compensation and benefits studies as requested by international organisations (Co‑ordinated or Associated).  The selected person will report directly to the Head of Service.

Main Responsibilities

Compensation and benefits

  • Under the supervision of the Head of Service, take responsibility for the technical performance of the Unit, improving its capabilities, communication links with its users both inside the Service and the CO and outside the tripartite process, including the International Financial Institutions (IFI) and other Associated Organisations.

  • Supervise  the production of technical analyses of issues related to the revision of salaries, various allowances or any other item on which the ISRP's assistance is required by the CCR or by the Committee of Representatives of Secretaries-General (CRSG) or by other international organisations.

  • Respond to requests for information on developments of salaries and allowances and pensions both in the private and public sectors of a group of Member countries, as well as in other pertinent intergovernmental organisations.

  • Supervise the fiscal calculations related to retired staff of the CO and the internal tax of certain international organisations.

  • Plan and participate in local salary and rent surveys, as well as price and family budget surveys, in collaboration with national and international statistical offices; analyse and evaluate the data collected,  supervise and verify the computation of end results; produce written reports of results.

  • Oversee the maintainance of the international tax database or other databases.

Staff Management

  • Supervise, motivate and contribute to the professional development of staff in the Unit, participate in recruitment processes and carry out performance evaluations. 

Information technology

  • Follow-up and develop all the computer systems of the ISRP (hardware, software). Keep the Head of the ISRP abreast of latest technological innovations that may be useful in ISRP work.  Advise the Head of the ISRP on best available technical training possibilities for the staff of the Unit.

Liaison and Representation

  • On request of the Head of the ISRP, ensure the secretariat of committees, working parties and technical study groups: take notes, produce summary records and explanatory papers.

  • Represent the Service at various technical meetings.
