Today, GFA employs nearly 250 staff members in Germany.

In our water and sanitation department, we concentrate on providing high quality consulting services focussing on change management and organisational development of water sector institutions, feasibility studies, baseline and socio-economic surveys, development of project concepts, demand orientated training and capacity development measures as well as project management.

In order to increase our in-house capacity, we are looking for an experienced Water and Sanitation Specialist who will join the dynamic team of our worldwide operating Water and Sanitation department at GFA’s headquarter in Hamburg.

Job Description

Having experience in the fields of urban and/or rural water and wastewater management in developing countries, the Water and Sanitation Specialist will assume the following main responsibilities:

  • Planning, coordination, follow-up of ongoing projects and studies including backstopping missions to support the GFA-teams on site and regular contact to clients and partner institutions;

  • Execution of technical short-term consultancy missions including participation in feasibility and project preparatory studies;

  • Active acquisition of consultancy services including the execution of fact-finding missions and elaboration of proposals.

Duration of assignment: two-years contract with option of extension
