GIZ hiring Team Leader for Increasing the Adaptability of Tradesmen and Craftsmen

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a service enterprise for development cooperation with international operations and global experience. Owned by the Federal Republic of Germany, the organisation operates as a private-sector enterprise with a development-policy mandate: to make sustainable improvements to the living conditions of people in the countries we operate in. The organisation’s business area GIZ International Services is the vehicle for offering GIZ’s services to international clients.
The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is as follows:
To increase the adaptability of tradesmen and craftsmen by investing more in human capital for the sake of more sustainable economic growth.
The purpose of this contract is as follows:
To increase the adaptability of tradesmen and craftsmen by strengthening the competencies of employees and employers of SME’s (Small and Medium Enterprises) through providing them work based skills and by increasing the service delivery capacities of training and consultancy centres of TESK (The Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (Turkish Acronym)).
The expert is proposed to mainly carry out the following (non-exhaustive list) activities:
To coordinate the overall management and implementation of the project
To be the main contact person for all communication with the relevant institutions/actors including the Beneficiary, the Contracting Authority and the Operating Structure
To prepare and/or supervise and transmit the reports to the relevant authorities
To be responsible for management of the TA team members and allocation of duties among experts for the efficiency and success of the project
To assign non-key experts, to draft their mission letters and to plan the budget for their tasks
To prepare work plans and implementation schedules for the implementation of the project
To ensure timely submission of all project outputs as required
To coordinate implementation of trainings and workshops in the target provinces
To ensure the development of strategic documents as requested in the ToR
Duration: The intended commencement date is June 2015 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 23 months from this date.
