Call for Proposals: INternet Cleantech ENablers Spark Project, Energy & Environment Sector

FIWARE will dramatically increase Europe’s Information and Communications Technology competitiveness by introducing an innovative infrastructure that enables cost-effective creation and delivery of versatile digital services, high quality of service and security guarantees.
The platform aims to reduce obstacles and foster innovation and entrepreneurship in a variety of ways:
- Offering a set of open APIs that allow developers to avoid getting tied to any specific vendor, therefore protecting application developer’s investment.
- Providing a powerful foundation for the Future Internet, cultivating a sustainable ecosystem for: Service providers: delivering new applications and solutions meeting the requirements of established and emerging areas of use. End users and consumers actively participating in content and service consumption and creation.
INternet Cleantech ENablers Spark (INCENSe) project aims to foster innovation and high-tech employment in the European ENERGY sector by developing a cross border initiative across Europe.
INCENSe will select SMEs and web entrepreneurs intending to develop innovative Internet-based technologies in the Clean Tech sector, focusing on the following categories: Smart Grids, ICT, Automation Solutions, Energy Efficiency, Energy Storage, Electric Mobility, Renewable Generation.
About the Open Call
Applicants should propose to develop disruptive technologies in the CleanTech sector using FIWARE Technology. The project has a budget of € 6.2 million to directly support startups and will be articulated in two open calls which will select up to 42 SMEs/Start-ups, which will be offered up to €150.000 and a 6 month personalized acceleration programme supported by leading multinational companies from the energy sector and best in class accelerators.
The Second Open Call will run from June 2015 until September 2015.
