International Organisation hiring Managing Director of Europe

London, United Kingdom or Madrid, Spain, 08 April 2015

Change.org is seeking a Managing Director of Europe to lead a remarkable team serving tens of millions of users across the continent.

Change.org is the world’s largest platform for social change, empowering more than 80 million users to take action on the issues they care about.

More than 10,000 victories have been won through Change.org, from British citizens convincing the Minister of Education to take action on FGM and French entrepreneurs saving their special start-up business status to a German mother getting a crosswalk installed at her child's school and a blind law student in Spain ensuring that blind people can serve as judges.

Sitting on our senior team, the Managing Director of Europe will help craft our global strategy, supervise our exceptional European country directors, and be the principal leader of our impact, brand, and business across the continent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for Change.org’s presence, strategy, and business across all European markets to maximise the achievement of our mission.

  • Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team of country and functional leads, ensuring each European team is having incredible impact, hitting all key results, and building a thriving, sustainable business.

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of high-level contacts across the region, including media, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers in government, business, and civil society.

  • Represent Europe (our fastest growing global market) internally within Change.org, and coordinate with company leadership, product development, and operations counterparts to identify needs and ensure effective support.

  • Work with other regional leaders to identify and address shared needs and opportunities, including cross-border learning and collaboration.

  • Occasionally assume global leadership responsibilities on special projects or priorities.

  • Encourage a very large and fast-growing team to embody our values, embrace our culture, and work together effectively.

  • Regularly travel to each European country office, San Francisco, and New York.
