International Organisation hiring Risk Management and Safety Trainer

Summary of Position:

International Organisation seeks a dynamic trainer to join a cutting edge safety training programme for journalists and media professionals. Working with the Regional Manager and other center trainers, this position delivers regionally contextualized safety trainings and advises on risk assessment and management planning for programme beneficiaries. The Risk Management & Safety Trainer supports the overall growth of the programme through Monitoring & Evaluation support, as well as providing recommendations to programme strategy, design and content to ensure effective and impactful programme implementation.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent cross-cultural communication skills, excellent training and facilitation skills. Candidates with backgrounds in natural disaster and first aid training are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

Working in a collaborative team, the Risk Management & Safety Trainer works in coordination with the Regional Manager and other center trainers in Digital and Psychosocial Safety to

  • Develop, prepare, and adapt workshop curriculum to ensure content and methods are regionally appropriate

  • Ensure holistic approach, which includes but is not limited to writing and presenting integrated lessons that require simultaneous delivery by the trainers;

  • Deliver trainings in risk management, stress management, basic planning, incident management, and information management and communication;

  • Conduct follow-ups with training participants;

  • Provide risk assessment and mitigation planning to at-risk individuals on an as-needed basis, and in coordination with the Regional Manager

  • Support programme monitoring & evaluation by reporting on activities as required by Regional Manager;

  • Act as Security Focal point for the training team by keeping updated on pertinent developments that impact safety, and coordinating response with programme team; and

  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager and programme Director.
