International Financial Institution recruiting Senior Automotive Sector Adviser

Project Description

The International Financial Institution (IFI) aims at engaging an individual expert or individual experts proposed through a firm (the "Consultant") who will bring extensive know-how of the automotive sector to assist the IFI in developing further its role in financing the automotive sector in its countries of operation ("COOs") (the "Project"). The automotive industry plays an important role in the economics of the COOs of the IFI, especially in Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania), Turkey and Morocco. IFI has a significant portfolio in the automotive sector and has provided financing to Original Equipment Manufacturing ("OEMs") and global and local suppliers in its COOs. IFI intends to increase the automotive portfolio by providing further financing via loans and equity to companies in the automotive sector.

Assignment Description

IFI intends to select and contract one individual expert or a consultancy company interested in nominating one expert (the "Consultant") for the Assignment.

The expected outcome of the Assignment is for the Consultant to assist the IFI Banking team and other teams within the Bank in understanding better the automotive sector and in evaluating financing proposals for OEMs, tier-one and tier-two suppliers.

The selected Consultant is expected to provide the following services:

  • Summarize the IFI's already existing knowledge of the automotive industry in the IFI's COOs and to develop this knowledge by strengthening the IFI's understanding of the industry structure and value chain composition.

  • Agree and implement with the IFI team a business development strategy for the automotive industry targeting companies in the sector in Western Europe, North America and Asia that have an interest in investing in the IFI COOs as well as local companies in the Bank's COOs.

  • Evaluate projects in the sector by providing effective scrutiny and advice at various stages in the IFI's approval process including travelling for due diligence together with IFI team(s).
