IAEA recruiting Information Systems Coordinator

Within the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, the Radiation Safety and Monitoring Section (RSM) in the Division of Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety is responsible for information systems related to its activities in Member States and to its own activities within the IAEA. These include inter alia the Radiation Protection of Patients website (RPOP), the educational reporting systems on Safety in Radiation Oncology (SAFRON) and Safety in Interventional Procedures (SAFRAD), the IAEA’s Dose Management System (DMS), the Occupational Radiation Protection website (ORPNET) and the Information System on Occupational Exposure in Medicine, Industry and Research (ISEMIR).

RSM is looking to engage an Information Systems Coordinator with experience in radiation safety or similar applications as a consultant for one year to assist in the development and maintenance of these systems.


  • Research and prepare information related to the radiation protection of patients and to occupational radiation protection for publication on RSM’s web-based information systems.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the IAEA Division of Information Technology on changes in content and functionality of RSM’s web-based information systems.

  • Advise management on improving information systems to increase interactivity with users, including through social media.

  • Assist in the technical administration of the RPOP and ORPNET websites, SAFRON, SAFRAD, ISEMIR and DMS systems, such as approving the registrations of new users for SAFRON, SAFRAD and ISEMIR; assigning roles to new users of these systems;

  • loading new topical information in SAFRON and SAFRAD; co-ordinating regular update of RPOP website, including formulating email information to list of subscribers; uploading social media updates.

  • Prepare analytical reports, e.g. statistics about the number of hits, errors, etc., as requested by the responsible technical officers and managers in RSM.

  • Serve as initial contact point to follow up on queries from the users on the information systems.

Contract duration: 1 year.
