International Consultancy hiring Communications Lead

Background

International Consultancy is recruiting for a Communications Lead for an anticipated four year (plus one option year) USAID-funded programme entitled "SERVIR and Climate Services Support Activity." The overarching goal of the SERVIR programme is to improve environmental management and resilience to climate change. With an eye toward this goal, the SERVIR programme works to build the capacity of governments and other key stakeholders to integrate earth observation information and geospatial technologies into development decision-making. The ultimate objective of this support activity is to improve USAID's communication of programme results and impacts facilitate reliable access to SERVIR's online data and tools, and provide technical assistance to hubs and in-region partners

The Communications Lead will be a key position on the SERVIR and Climate Services Support Activity. One of the six tasks on the project will be to improve the SERVIR programme capacity to effectively communicate information, analysis, and reporting to key audiences through multiple channels, including a comprehensive and easy-to-use website, special publications and multimedia products, traditional and social media, and external briefings and events. Communicating timely messages in appropriate formats, tailored to audiences and local cultures, will help to build brand recognition, understanding, and support for and uptake of SERVIR services. Activities under this task are as follows:

  • Maintain a global SERVIR communication plan and standards.

  • Generate online content for the website and social media outlets for the duration of the task order.

  • Develop communications materials for SERVIR Global. This includes quarterly newsletters, brochures (minimum of 10), infographics ((minimum of 12), videos ((minimum of 2), analyses (including policy briefs or white papers), lessons learned, etc.

  • Design and implement activities that position SERVIR as a thought leader and effective knowledge broker about science-informed development for the duration of the task order.

  • Produce SERVIR Annual Reports for a public audience.
