UNIDO recruiting Enterprise Resource Planning Technical Lead

Office for Change and Organizational Renewal (O-COR)

The Office for Change and Organizational Renewal is, among others, responsible for managing the integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution and ensuring that it supports the business processes of the Organization in an efficient and effective manner to achieve the Programme for Change and Organizational Renewal (PCOR) benefits. One of the principal focuses of O-COR is to ensure that, in close cooperation with all key stakeholders, the ERP solution continues to meet the Organization's business and operational needs. O-COR furthermore ensures from an operational and technical perspective that these requirements are addressed in the ERP system in a holistic, integrated, systematic and cost-effective manner following best practices, thus contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Organization. Furthermore, O-COR deals with the ERP service providers and manages the ERP-related contracts and outsourced services. It acts as the focal point on all ERP-related matters within the Organization and interactions with other United Nations and inter-governmental organizations.

Main functions

Under the supervision of the Director, O-COR and in the context of the new integrated ERP solution implemented at UNIDO, the incumbent is the ERP Technical Lead who will have the responsibility to systematically monitor and proactively optimize the ERP system's performance, including the use of key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure the provision of uninterrupted ERP services to all stakeholders in order to allow for the continuous improvement of the Organization's operations and the overall quality and effectiveness of UNIDO's services.

He/she will be responsible for providing the end-to-end technical operations and tools of the ERP solution by managing and monitoring technical changes and improvements in a coordinated way, aligning business needs with the ERP, and proactively mitigating risks. He/she will reduce ERP-related technical administrative efforts and infrastructure investments by providing high-level specialized skills and guidance to the ERP Technical and Portal Support team. The ERP Technical Lead will manage and monitor the entire ERP installation, configuration, release management, patching, transportation routes and troubleshooting of technical issues. Furthermore, the ERP Technical Lead will be responsible for managing daily operations of the entire ERP system landscape. The role of ERP Technical Lead will be to ensure the availability of the ERP solution to, among others, ensure that the Organization's business needs continue to be met in the short-, medium- and long-term.

Specifically, the ERP Technical Lead will:

  • Manage the ERP system performance and monitor via key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the optimal performance with minimal impact on end-users both at headquarters and field operations;

  • Manage and mitigate risks related to the overall ERP system landscape;

  • Lead, coordinate and implement the central release management implementation plan, tools and protocols including enhancement packs, upgrade and transport strategy for the entire integrated ERP solution;

  • Manage, document and test all procedures to ensure uninterrupted availability of the integrated ERP solution and technical BASIS (Business Application Software Integrated Solution) components including the overall ERP end-user authorizations and roles concept;

  • Act as team leader and provide guidance on ERP Technical and BASIS Management including the Information Communication and Management (ICM) unit, external ERP service partners, as well as Key Users to ensure there is minimize disruptions to UNIDO's business operations;

  • Define, document and maintain ERP-related Service Level Agreements including KPI's for stakeholders;

  • Manage and coordinate ERP regular system administration tasks including tools, procedures, error and incident management and escalation paths;

  • Drive ERP technical innovation through best practices and state-of-the-art tools;

  • Lead and coordinate the ERP Business Intelligence (BI) and Dashboard reporting solution;

  • Lead and coordinate the ERP Portal and Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) solution;

  • Develop and implement an ERP Business Process Management (BPM) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concept;

  • Define and communicate the ERP's hardware, database management and backup & recovery needs, i.e. the service level requirements to be provided by ICM or external service provider;

  • Perform post implementation reviews of major ERP technical changes and improvements;

  • Perform other related duties as required.
