Independent Diplomat recruiting Diplomatic Adviser

Independent Diplomat (ID) is seeking a Diplomatic Adviser in its Brussels office to support the provision of diplomatic services to our clients.

The preferred location for this position is Brussels, Belgium reporting to the Director of the Brussels office.  This is expected to be a 9-month position with possible extension subject to availability of funding.

Job purpose

  • Provide high-quality support to ID's clients.

Job Description

Working with ID's team, the Diplomatic Adviser will:

  • Gather diplomatic intelligence and analyze and report on political developments in EU countries regarding certain ID clients;

  • Assist in specific diplomatic and policy research on the issues facing specific ID clients, and on related cases, as required;

  • Facilitate senior level diplomatic, intergovernmental and media contacts for officials of specific ID clients;

  • Draft written materials for the client, including diplomatic briefings, talking points, media releases, and articles for publication;

  • Provide assistance where needed on ID's other current and future client work.
