European Agency for Health and Safety at Work (OHSA) tenders Online Media Monitoring Contract

European Union, 17 May 2012

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is an EU Agency committed to making Europe a safer, healthier and more productive place to work. OHSA promotes a culture of risk prevention to improve working conditions in Europe.

This call for tender aims at selecting a provider able to supply online media monitoring services in countries of the European Union, European Economic Area, candidate and potential candidate countries and others.

The service provider should offer the technical means to screen a large number of online media in multiple languages and allow selecting, classifying and archiving relevant articles into different topics and/or categories.

The service provider should also be able to report regularly on the results in different formats such as data tables and presentations.

The provider should offer the necessary infrastructure enabling EU-OSHA to stream chosen articles on its corporate website.

The service provider should be able to deliver the following services:

  • Provision of an online media monitoring platform to trace media coverage - seven days a week - in websites of news providers, companies, organisations, institutions and the public sector, specialised magazines, blogs and online communities (including social media such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook etc.) in at least the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area, candidate and potential candidate countries;

  • Provision of real-time access to the online media monitoring platform to identified EU-OSHA users;

  • Identification and implementation of key words and search agents in all the languages of the countries mentioned above (in cooperation with EU-OSHA) and the possibility to update this list when required at no extra cost;

  • Possibility to add new website sources to the search tool free-of-charge; (EU-OSHA could occasionally request to monitor media sources behind a pay wall)

  • Provision of training and helpdesk services regarding the use of the tool to selected EU-OSHA users.

  • Sending news alerts to EU-OSHA users five days a week (Monday to Friday) reporting on identified articles;

  • Tool for translating articles from European languages into English.

The framework contract will be concluded between EU-OSHA and the successful tenderer for an initial period of one year from the date it is signed by EU-OSHA and may be renewed up to three times, each time for a period of one year.

Deadline: 4 June 2012
