International Organisation hiring Press and Communications Officer

The post-holder carries out multiple tasks related to the planification, implementation and evaluation of Organisation’s communication strategy, various communication and promotion programmes, projects, events and initiatives through different kinds of communication channels aiming at different target audiences with the overall objective to raise the visibility of the activities of the Organisation and of the Council of Europe in the field of the quality of medicines and healthcare.

Key activities

The incumbent performs the following key duties:

  • organises and co-ordinates the media coverage of EDQM events and developments in the field of quality of medicines and health care: news, press conferences and briefings, interviews, photo opportunities, TV/radio programmes and webinars;

  • provides professional expertise and directly supports the elaboration, planification, development and implementation of targeted communication campaigns and also public awareness campaigns such as the European Organ Donation Day in co-operation with different entities;

  • provides professional expertise across the EDQM, to the drafting of a wide range of communication materials, e.g. brochures, annual reports, leaflets, fact sheets, press releases, statements, articles, summaries, daily web and social media content on a wide variety of scientific/technical subjects covering all the EDQM’s activities; ensures that texts are clear, concise and convincing;

  • develops partnerships with professional media organisations and other relevant institutions and bodies to sollicit support for promotional objectives;

  • contributes actively to the development of the EDQM’s web and social media presence and visibility and keeps the EDQM institutional website up-to-date including the elaboration of a web content strategy;

  • contributes actively to the implementation of the EDQM’s crisis communication strategy, e.g. development of a dark site, preparation of comprehensive and ready to use information;

  • delivers high quality, effective offline and online marketing communications materials and ensures marketing communications activity is based on clear objectives, effective targeting and audience insight, so that marketing  is targeted and cost-effective;

  • carries out these tasks in cooperation with the Directorate of Communication in conformity with the communication policy of the Organisation in the areas concerned (press, web, social media and publications).
