European Expert Network on Culture

The new European Expert Network on Culture is expected to provide independent, rigorous, expert advice, and support to European Commission policy makers, synthesising current research and main issues in a way useful for policy development. The network should be able to provide high-quality advice and support in relation to a wide range of cultural policy issues.
The network is expected to provide research analysis, mapping of legislations, funding programmes and schemes, practices and policies in the 27 EU Member States and third countries where necessary, literature reviews, drafting of minutes, and/or policy advice that is clear, specific, constructive, concrete, relevant to the work of the European Commission, and formulated in plain, non-academic language that can be understood and acted upon by non-specialists.
The expertise of the network should cover all three dimensions defined in the 2018 New European Agenda for Culture4:
Social dimension - harnessing the power of culture and cultural diversity for social cohesion and well-being
Economic dimension - supporting culture-based creativity in education and innovation, and for jobs and growth
External dimension - Strengthening international cultural relations
