Kantor recruiting Energy Sector Consultants

In the framework of the United Nations’ Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) initiative, the European Union has created a Technical Assistance facility to support developing countries to ensure universal access to modern energy services, improve energy efficiency and increase the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix, through reform and the scaling up of investment in the energy sector. The Facility will be implemented in direct centralised management through calls for tenders.

Kantor is participating in the procurement procedure launched by the European Commission for a contract in the context of the SE4All Facility, which covers primarily countries in the following regions: Neighbourhood (East and South), Asia (including Central Asia), Latin America, Caribbean and Pacific. The purpose of the contract will be to deliver high level technical assistance at country and regional level, through expert missions that may be mobilised at short notice. Examples of areas of support include: national energy sector policies and reforms, capacity building particularly in the policy and regulatory areas, technical support in preparation of investment projects, mobilisation of funds and facilitation of partnerships, industrial and technology cooperation, project demonstration.

Kantor is now seeking qualified experts to work on this contract, with the indicative profiles detailed below. All experts will be required over the 4-year period of the contract, expected to start in September 2014. Their base of operations will be a combination of home base, the Contractor’s nominated base, as well as some travel to the region. All experts are required to have excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of additional languages, especially French, Spanish and Russian, is considered an advantage. All experts must be able to work with standard software for drafting documents and preparing presentations.

Role of the position

The Project Manager will be required to oversee the implementation of the project that will support the targeted countries in improving access to modern energy services, improving energy efficiency and increase the share of renewable energy in their global energy mix. The Project Manager will have to ensure the overall delivery of the project and will maintain regular contact with the relevant EU services (EuropeAid) and the concerned EU Delegations as well as the relevant regional bodies.
