LUMS recruiting Evaluation Manager

Background

Lancaster University has recently been awarded funding to manage the delivery of the Wave 2 City Deals initiative as part of the Regional Growth Fund Project. Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) will lead on the co-ordination of providing advice and support to up to 20 cities across the UK that have elected to take part in this scheme by offering a variety of business support packages. 

The University now seeks to employ an Evaluation Manager who will take responsibility for the formative evaluation of the project. The post holder will build links between the research base of the university, the internal and external monitoring teams and the business support programmes and stakeholders within the cities.

Major Duties

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of evaluation, and the day to day management of the evaluation of the project in conjunction with the RGF Director, Policy Advisor and RES staff, including arranging appropriate meetings.

  • To undertake the evaluation process of the project, including the collection, analysis and reporting of both quantitative and qualitative data.

  • To develop and build relationships, then continuing to advise and liaise, with project leads in the Wave 2 cities (W2CD) to ensure delivery in line with scope of the RGF project, which will include undertaking UK-wide travel.

  • Management of all documentation required for successful evaluation of the RGF project including the development and collation of any reports to internal and external bodies as required.

  • Responsible for ensuring effective communication and dissemination of the project aims, objectives, processes, issues and outcomes to all internal and external stakeholders.

  • To closely liaise with RES staff to ensure project monitoring and evaluation processes are adhered to and synergy is maintained between the university and the project partners.

  • To establish and strengthen the link between the various university teams involved in the project.

  • To assist staff in the development of research proposals and financial preparation of bids for future sustainability.

  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the RGF Director.

Contract duration: the post is fixed term until 31 March 2015.
