The Business Innovation and Improvement Programme (BIIP) is a three year programme with an objective of transforming United Nations operations into a smarter, better-integrated set of processes and systems in line with our mission and vision, and the specific objectives of our strategic plan. Due to its strategic importance in United Nations ongoing quest for excellence the programme will be located in the Executive office and work closely with all United Nations practices and offices.
In broader terms, the programme will enable United Nations to:
Receive and manage organizational information in a manner that can better support the implementation of our strategic plan, collaboration with partners, and ensure the delivery of value;
Manage and monitor operations, programmes and projects in an efficient manner, while enabling the management of changes in operational as well as organizational contexts;
Streamline support processes and corresponding system functions to enable a seamless flow of information that leaves personnel free to perform greater value-added functions;
Successfully tackle the range of functional challenges we currently encounter and will encounter in the future.
To deliver on these outcomes, the programme will release a suite of integrated products, including a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, an Enterprise Project Management system and a Business Relationship Management system.
Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and usability of systems by leading adoption of solid architectural standards.
Articulate and develop new, innovative concepts that could be implemented in addition to or as a replacement of existing solutions.
Participate in specification of web applications in conjunction with other team members.
Participate in the maintainenace of detailed technical documentation of architecture.
Mentor and develop AngularJS skills of team members.
Contract duration: 1 year.
