International Organisation hiring Training and Events Expert

Purpose of Position

The Sr Associate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the planning & executing of the public and bespoke events and trainings of the region according to the approved annual calendar and budget. He/she will have a full understanding and carry out the management of each event liaising with clients, suppliers, managing budgets, F&B and overall execution of each event.

The Sr Associate will also be supportive of the development and deployment of marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives in the region.


Primary responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities are to participate in the definition of the annual calendar for the region.

Ensure Training and Event Management & Logistics:

  • Planning, implementation and follow-up for all training and events according to project management best practices.

  • Coordinate event logistics within the approved budgets.

  • Cultivate and expand sponsorship development and on-site co-ordination of sponsors.

  • Supervise and coordinate with event contractors.

  • Book venues and negotiate fees.

  • Ensure day of event goes smoothly.

  • Liaise with trainers and speakers, ensuring their participation and meeting their requirements

  • Design delegate experience for the trainings and events: agendas, event space, engagement parameters and networking and interaction.

Carry out the sales and promotional activities related to training and events within the agreed budgets:

  • Drive attendance to the event using dedicated websites, flyers, cold calling, and social media as examples of ways to spark interest.

  • Develop and implement marketing plans and materials for new and existing products.

  • Maintain dedicated event websites.

  • Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products, current market conditions and competitor information.

  • Expand and develop marketing platforms.

  • Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results.

  • Provide input on marketing strategies for the different markets.

  • Ensure observance of brand guidelines throughout the different marketing activities.

Manage partners and suppliers:

  • Identify and approach suppliers to ensure success of the events.

  • Identify and approach marketing and sales partners to drive revenue increase and market share.

  • Manage the different partners and suppliers to ensure a successful relationship.

Carry out budgeting and reporting:

  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentation.

  • Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the events and marketing budgets.

Reporting requirements

  • The role reports to the Regional Manager Training & Events (EMEA & APAC). Reporting requirements include:

  • Attendance to all weekly team meetings.

  • Regular consultation with line manager to ensure strategies are aligned.

  • Provision of regular updates to regional management.

  • Monthly updates on status of personal KPIs and any other matters of concern.

  • Input into the Training & Events organisation quarterly reports and other reporting as requested by the line manager.


  • The role is part of the Strategy & Corporate Development Division within the Learning Department.

  • Will be required to liaise with other business units in order to understand and address market needs.

  • The role will liaise with the relevant external players in the education field and with other contractors and partners to achieve targets efficiently.

Authority levels

  • Compliance with corporate delegated authorities.

  • Appropriate consultation with line manager regarding important decisions within the area of responsibility.
