Brussels, Belgium, 29 November 2017

INTRODUCTION

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (henceforth "EASME" or "the Contracting Authority")1, acting under the powers delegated by the European Commission, is launching this invitation to tender for the signature of a service contract aimed at showcasing careers in the textile/clothing/leather/footwear sector.

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

EASME wishes to enter into a service contract for the organisation and implementation of promotion and awareness raising campaign in textile/clothing/leather/footwear sector (TCLF).

The general objective of this tender is to boost employment and employability and overcome gaps, shortages and mismatches between skills offer and demand in the textile/clothing/leather/footwear sector (TCLF).

The specific objective of this tender is to attract people, who are at the stage of choosing studies, future graduates and unemployed persons, to take up careers in the TCLF industry sector, notably through identifying showcase examples of job opportunities and specific actions addressing both traditional craft skills and new emerging skills, such as digital skills and cross sectoral technical/engineering fusion innovation skills.

An indirect objective is to provide visibility and recognition of the TCLF industry to the large public and to encourage policy makers (e.g. national and regional authorities in charge of education) to take actions supporting careers in the TCLF sector, for example by facilitating skills training and education and encouraging cooperation between key industry stakeholders, public authorities, research institutes, education centres, universities and vocational education and training (VET) providers involved in skills development in the sector.

The work packages include:

  • WP 1: Assessment of existing promotion campaigns and undertaking initial activities of the communication and awareness raising campaign

  • WP 2: Preparation and implementation of the communication and awareness raising campaign
