ECN was founded by a group of consultants with wide-ranging experience in EU and general consultancy programmes dating back to 1992.

As consultants, we recognise that although there are many funding opportunities, it is often difficult to keep track of these on a systematic basis. Moreover, the European Commission’s own search tools are often time-consuming and difficult to manage.

Timely business intelligence on European procurement opportunities is a strategic advantage. Our objective is to ensure that our Members have a steady stream of funding opportunities, delivered through an innovative keyword search tool in a standardised format.

We decided to develop an online business intelligence system just as we ourselves would want it: an easy-to-use navigator, providing comprehensive business intelligence, with automated tender notifications delivered instantaneously (push email marketing)

Our analysts scan over 200 European Commission-related websites every week. On average, we upload approximately 65 new funding opportunities each week onto the ECN platform. No other source of information can match the range of opportunities we provide in terms of comprehensive EU coverage, including the EU's own TED.

We are also gradually expanding our range of coverage to include consultancy procurements, recruitments and subcontracting from other organisations, including the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, United Nations Development Programme, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, African Development Bank and others. 

This stream of procurement opportunities is complemented and expanded by our innovative project sub-contracting and project consortium service, which is loaded by Members themselves.
